Thymosin a1, also known as Thymalfasin is used alone or in combination with interferon as an immunomodulator for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B and C. It is also used to enhance the effectiveness of influenza vaccines in immunocompromised or elderly patients and of influenza and hepatitis B vaccines in chronic haemodialysis patients. Thymosin a1 is under investigation for a number of other diseases, including hepatitis D, hepatocellular carcinoma, non-small cell lung cancer, melanoma, and HIV infection and AIDS.
Uses: Hepatitis B and C.
