Description
Secretin is a polypeptide hormone involved in the regulation of gastric function. It stimulates the secretion of bicarbonate by the pancreas and inhibits the gastrin and acid production in the stomach.

Secretin potentiates the release of digestive enzymes from the pancreas and it is also used as a diagnostic agent in various disorders of the pancreas.
